FEES and SERVICES
Everyone is concerned about the price that their attorney will cost. Although there is no good time for a DWI, it seems as if they always happen at the worst possible time. We will discuss our fees with you at your free consultation. Every case is different, so it is impossible for us to list out our fees on this web site.
Here are some general facts about the fees we charge.
1. Our fees are almost always quoted on a "Flat-Fee" basis.
This way you will know up front how much it will cost to retain us as your attorneys. Most criminal defense attorneys use a flat-fee in their services. This is opposed to an hourly fee, which is usually used by civil attorneys. We prefer the flat-fee method, which allows our clients to know exactly how much their representation will cost.
Our experience with hourly fees is that someone always feels they are being taken advantage of. The client never knows if the time is accurate, and no one wants to see a $100 bill for a phone call.
2. Our fees
Our fees fall somewhere in the middle to upper range of fees charged by criminal defense attorneys. We are not the cheapest lawyers around, nor do we strive to be. If we were, we would probably have too many clients to be able to give you the personal attention you deserve. We would rather have less clients and more time to spend with them than to have lots of clients with no personal time.
If fees are your one and only concern, and you are looking for the cheapest possible lawyer you can find, we are probably not the attorneys for you. But, as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for!”
On the other hand, we are definitely not the most expensive attorneys around either. We understand that anytime someone is coming to see a lawyer it is almost always an unexpected expense. We will work with you (within reason) and set up a payment plan with you if necessary.
3. Credit Cards
We accept all major credit cards at no additional cost to you. We do not add any additional "convenience" fees, as is the practice with some other places.
4. Pre-Trial + Trial Fee Structure
With most of our cases, we use a pre-trial plus trial fee structure. What we mean by that, is that your initial fee will include our representation of you through all court appearances, most hearings, several meetings with you, review of all evidence, and a DWI Video review session.
If after review of all of the evidence and offers made, you decide you want to have a trial, we will charge an additional trial fee.
We use this pre-trial plus trial fee structure in order to charge everyone a fair amount based upon the work and time that it will take us to prepare for your case. Obviously, trial prep and the actual trial will be more time consuming, and this fee structure contemplates this.
Payment Plans and Options
We provide payment plans for our clients at no additional charge and with no credit requirements. Our law office accepts cash, personal checks and ALL major credit cards.
